First, the MK6.5 made between 2015 and 2018. Second, the new seventh-gen MK7 in 2019. Third, the latest MK7 in 2022. Though the front style of the three versions is similar, the logo mounting frame sizes differ greatly between pre-2019 and post-2019 Jettas. Jetta MK6.5 (2015–2018)
Most North American drivers call the 2015–2018 sixth-gen Jetta the face-lifted Jetta. Every trim level of this model, including S, SE, SEL, SEL Premium, and GLI has the same mounting frames. It doesn’t matter whether the car has adaptive cruise control. What’s more, most MK6.5 models don’t have ACC as a standard feature. This safety feature is available only on the top-tier SEL and SEL Premium models. If your 2015 to 2018 Jetta lacks ACC, any VW light up emblem will fit well with no radar conflicts. You can check menu settings or dashboard indicator lights if your vehicle has Front Assist. If yes, you must select the version that is compatible with the radar.
Jetta MK7 (2019–2025)
The 2019 seventh-gen Jetta is designed differently. The frame sizes are totally different from the older MK6.5. This lineup includes S, SE, SEL, GLI, R-Line, Sport, and Wolfsburg Edition trims in the world. They have the same grille badge fitment, so it is easier for you to choose the parts than the Golf series. The seventh-generation VW Jetta light-up emblem fits all MK7 Jetta models from 2019 to 2025.
Jetta GLI — Special Considerations
The Jetta GLI is the performance trim of seventh-gen Jettas. It has front ACC as a standard feature across all its configurations. The GLI has a special front bumper, and the lower air intake is more assertive than ordinary Jetta models. However, the size and mounting position of the badge on the upper grille are the same as other MK7 Jettas. Therefore, the emblem is not only suitable for GLI, but also all other 2019–2025 Jetta vehicles. Since every GLI has Front Assist radar from the factory, you must check that you select the radar-compatible emblem when you want to order one for your GLI.
ACC Compatibility Across All Jetta Trims
Since 2022, forward automatic emergency braking has become a standard feature for all Jetta trims that are sold within North America. For 2019–2021 vehicles, ACC access differs by trim tier. The basic S trims usually don’t have this function, while SE trims and above almost always have it. For the 2015–2018 models, you can find ACC in SEL Premium trims and a small number of SEL builds.

Wiring the VW Jetta LED Emblem — Fuse Box Method
Most Jetta trims don’t have factory LED daytime light strips. So the T-harness plug-and-play wiring guide for vehicles with factory DRL strips cannot be used here. You can use the fuse box wiring method as standard installation for every Jetta model. First, you need to find a low-current ignition-controlled circuit in the engine compartment fuse panel. Second, you should connect the circuit with the provided fuse tap. Remember to attach the negative cable to an unpainted metal grounding point. After that, the badge can turn on and off together with the ignition. You don’t need VCDS coding, dealership service, or software programming.
Choosing Between Line Style and Full Illumination
The MK7 Jetta has a simple front grille without factory LED light strips. Most Jetta owners choose the fully lit badges because it is the only glowing part on the vehicle’s front.
